It took me a while to write this review as I continue to Discover more features. DISCOVERY is a Sy-Fy Program on TV and it is in the future. This player has some futuristic performances to it as I continue to discover more features in this mp3 /mp4 player from Lauran. First thing you will Discover is brilliance and true colors of the screen. It easy on the eyes. Can watch a movie on it with ease .One other important feature of any mp3 /mp4 player is the quality of sound it produces. That was my next Discovery. The lossless sound. Description from the supplier says "sweet treble, accurate mid range and deep base ". So I put it to test with some audio books, jazz, classical and today's music with wide range of instruments and it passed with flying colors. And yes music has its own range of colors. There are so many features you can review in the specs and other reviews. Here are some more Discoveries like full accurate touch screen. This was such benefit . When I went back to one of my old players it was hard to look at the screen and expect with touching the screen it would obey the command, nope I had to go back to the bottom half of the screen to execute the desired move. The next Discovery is what I wanted in the first place. Large memory capacity 512 GIG. I have many mp3 players that will take 16, 32, 64 and some 128 GIG. I was forever shuffling between the different cards and mp3 players. So I created different categories on my computer like audiobooks (mysteries Sy-Fy, detective.. ) , musicals, podcasts and several more genres and loaded the files on 512 G. And away we go... I bought another 512 card, so now I have 2 cards A and B with all I want to listen to. But here is what I should have DISCOVERED in the first place. The Lauran came with an extra 72 GiG which I did not pay much attention to it... Until I found out what was on them. The 64 GIG had every folder I can imagine, much more than the the ones I created, right there already created for me. Moral of the story... Read the instructions. So now you can get this mp3 player and see what else you can DISCOVER . Sometimes it is the little things that matter. But this player from luoran has captured both little things and the big ones. First you will notice the fuaturistic ergonomic design, no sharp corners, corner smooth transition on the edges. However when you hold it to work the menus, it is solid. I will summarize the features however there are many. As soon as you turn it on, the IPS display will DAZZLE you with clear and bright display. I have at least a dozen or so mp3 players, what distinguishes this one from all the others I have can be summarized in 3 words: quality, performance, features.I can combine all the features ofHere are some of the features i really like . - I have not heard the sound quality of any players like this one... be it external speakers or the built in one . I say the sound quality where you can customize the equalizer to your hearts content, not limited to jazz or rock or classical or.... or .- fast forward or rewind are not by pushing and holding the forward button hoping to catch it just right, with a move of your finger across the screen you can pinpoint where you want to go exactly, want to go back, same thing. I can't tell you the number of times when I pressed the forward or backward buttons to end up at the beginning or the next book because I did not hold the button long enough or pressed it by mistake .- blue tooth multiplexing. - 4 way sleep timer options - audio books book markers galore - many many hours of battery life When you open the box you will find all imaginable accessories including connection varieties from USB C to USB A, from Micro USB to USB A ...and a screen saver to boot. - the price point is similar to other mp3 players but with lots and lots more features. You will read lots of good reviews. All reviews are from the prospective of the writer but the "proof in the pudding" is when you buy it, and enjoy what it offers. If you do not like it or does not measure up to your expectations return it, what do you have to loose? But this one will be a keeper. The downside is that it is lacking an in-depth manual which it sorely needs because there is so much that this player can do. I needed to take time out and play with it regarding learning all the ways music can be sorted via the AIMP utility. For instance to play music by genre, you have to select "Group by..." as opposed to "Sort by"... Under either option there is a myriad of sub-choices in which you can play your music - by title, year, album, artist, etc.Not having the ability to sort by genre would have been a deal breaker for me as I couldn't find it at first. I reached out to Louran customer service via amazon and they were very helpful. I was given a link to a YouTube video which had a demo on how to use the player. There were also independent reviews about this player also on YouTube. Was able to connect it to my Bluetooth speakers after some trial and error. For whatever reason, once I disabled the Bluetooth on my Samsung tablet I was able to connect to the Bluetooth speakers.Regarding internet capability, this is NOT a replacement for a smartphone by any means. It can't handle robust websites and will fail to load them. YouTube does play fine, however.Radio reception is pretty good on this device. Stations that came in poorly on my previous player, came in strong on this one. I'm very happy about that. The battery life, however, is below average. After 4 or 5 hours of play, the battery indicator shows below 50%. So it's neccessary to charge it daily if used daily. Also, when carrying the player while walking it periodically skips to the next song which is a nuisance. Putting it in my pocket stops that from happening. Perhaps the jostling around causes it to skip which is certainly an area to be improved in the next generation of the player.I reached out to Louran Customer Service regarding a case for the player. Although it's a pretty solid and well-constructed device, having a case to protect it from damage if dropped is a plus. Maria, from support, mailed me out a case free of charge.Some tips:While in AIMP, you can clear the current song being played by long pressing the "play" icon. This will clear it from the now playing queue - or you can simply select another song. Long pressing the play icon is necessary when you do a search and want to play your search result as opposed to the currently queued track. If you have a plethora of music, the search feature is so helpful.In summary, you get a lot of features in this device at an affordable price. I have yet to try out the recorder, video, ebook, calendar, etc. There is a lot to discover about this player; you have to play around with it to discover what it can do. Definitely a recommend!I base my review on knowledge and experience, I hope it is useful. The device is beautifully made. Just like a mobile phone. The headphones I give them 5 out of 10. Battery last about 7 to 8 hrs of constant play. The Bluetooth did not find my latest speaker (2021) but my old one (2012). The recorder is useless since the volume to record is barely there. Sound is adecuate, not great. FM is fine. I was not able to log in into my read site or voice site. One very satisfactory element: support responded positively when I told them my device could not connect to the internet and they sent me a new one. It works now. For the money, it is a great buy, not if you expect an Apple quality product. Good lucck!
